The Loras College volleyball team won their fourth game of the Iowa Conference season and ninth game overall on Tuesday night over Central College. The 3-0 sweep of the Dutch (25-22, 25-17, 26-24) earned Loras their first league win at home of the season and also locked up a spot in the Iowa Conference tournament November 6-7.
Loras was in control much of the night, but Central scrapped their way back into the third set and failed to convert on set point with a 24-22 lead. The Duhawks quickly tied the final set at 24-24 and Natalie Roling ended the match with an ace to give Loras the win and prevent any further momentum from shifting to the guests.
Julianne Lord led Loras with 12 kills on the night and committed just one error in 34 attempts. She added an ace, six digs, and two block assists. Brittney Westermeyer's line was highlighted by her four solo blocks (5.5 total). Michelle Bahl, who was honored briefly before the game for becoming Loras' all time digs leader, played very well in posting her team high 20 digs on Tuesday. Setter Julie Rogers added 29 assists.
