The AWC was adorned fittingly in pink as the volleyball team raised awareness for breast cancer with a "Pink Night" on Tuesday against conference foe Central College.

The Duhawks swept the Dutch 25-17, 25-13, 26-24, as they settled the score after losing to Central two weeks ago at the Central Classic.

Central, who is 16-6 overall and 4-2 in conference, had defeated the Duhawks, 9-13 overall and 4-2 in conference, 31-33, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17 in the tournament on Oct. 1.

Loras held the advantage throughout most of the game never getting behind by a large deficit. Most of that can be attributed to the Duhawks' net play and their 40 total kills that would lead to a .239 hitting percentage.

Junior Kenzie Goedken recorded the team high with 11 kills, followed by junior Regan Riley with nine and senior Kaity Frost with eight.

The team converted six serving aces, three coming from Riley alone.

Senior Julie Rogers collected 24 assists from her setter position.

Loras played its same line-up all three games and the players showed great chemistry filling up all possible holes on the floor on opponent kills.

The most important moment of the game may have come in the final game while behind two points late in the game coach Teresa Kehe called a timeout. That break would spark her team to score four straight points and help them to the sweep.

Loras competes in the Simpson Invitational Friday and Saturday where they will play a total of four games over the two day span. Loras' next home game will be Senior Night when Coe College visits the AWC on October 19.
