Loras 4, Coe 0

The Loras College women's soccer team spread around the goal-scoring wealth on Wednesday afternoon in Cedar Rapids on their way to a 4-0 win over Coe College.

It started with Ali Schmitt and Madeline Tennant connecting on a corner kick for the second time in three games for a game-winning goal for Tennant. The goal came in the 19thminute after the Duhawks had already put five shots on Jillian Reynolds and the Kohawks goal.

The second wave of Duhawks also found the back of the net in the first half. Brittan Rooney took a Hillary Wilson pass in the 37thminute to make it 2-0 and post her second goal of 2011 heading into halftime.

Just shy of the hour mark, Jessica Kern scored her third goal of the year on a Kate Young assist to put the Duhawks up 3-0.

The Duhawks capped their scoring in the 62ndminute when Natalie Schlader beat Reynolds after a Jaclyn Tumberger pass set her up. The goal was the first of Schlader's senior campaign.

All four of the Kohawks' efforts on the Loras goal came in the second half. Katie Chambers and Hannah Wilson combined for the shutout. Loras' only save of the game came late in the match when Rachel Rieger cleared a ball off the line.

Next up for the Duhawks is a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Central College Dutch in the Rock Bowl. Kickoff is 3:30 PM.
