Loras played their fifth conference game Wednesday night against Luther College, keeping it close throughout all three sets, but in the end not having enough to catch the Norse attack.

Luther 3, Loras 0

Luther completed the three game sweep of Loras with 25-16, 25-20, and 15-17 victories to collect its first Iowa Conference victory of the season, giving the Duhawks their second loss in the conference.

The victory snapped a four-match winning streak that the Duhawks had over the Norse that dated back to 2008.

Loras lacked a productive team attack throughout most of the night with its best performance at the hands of Regan Riley's 10 kills, but she was the lone Duhawk with more than five kills.

Julie Rogers added 21 assists from the setter position.

Luther's attack came rapidly from hitters Hannah Walker and Kelsey Sorensen, who connected on 11 and 17 kills, respectively. Walker hit on more than half of her attacks with a .538 percentage. Amanda Dietel dished out 36 assists from the setter position.

It has been the tale of two opposites in regards to records for both teams on the season. Loras possesses a record of 6-11 overall due to highly competitive non-conference tournaments, while Luther stands at 14-6.

In conference Loras now has fourth place to itself with a 3-2 record, while Luther is tied with Cornell College and University of Dubuque at a 1-2 record.

Loras will play at the Central Classic for three games through September 30-October 1st and then travel down to Clarke College for a non-conference game.

Loras' next home game is "Pink Night" night, when Central College comes to the AWC on October 11.
