Loras 4, Dubuque 0

In their first ever Homecoming game in the Rock Bowl, the Loras College Duhawks didn't disappoint the crowd, taking down the University of Dubuque Spartans 4-0 to start Iowa Conference play on Saturday evening.

Danielle Vujovic opened the scoring early, heading home a Jessica Kern corner kick in traffic in the fourth minute to take the early 1-0 lead. The Duhawks held a 10-2 shot advantage in the first half, controlling much of the run of play en route to the 1-0 halftime score.

Loras struck three more times in the second half – starting with Maddie Tennant's effort ten minutes into the second half. Vujovic headed a corner kick off the post which started a scramble in front of Dubuque's goal. Tennant hustled into place and extended the lead to 2-0.

Next up was a Vujovic assist to Kate Young for her team-leading fifth goal of the year shortly after Tennant's in the 63rdminute.

Lisa Waltz closed the scoring in the 71stminute. Waltz was dropped by a foul in the box and took the penalty kick herself – finished her attempt past Dubuque goalkeeper Loisann DeLass.

Katie Chambers made two first half saves and one second half save to earn the shutout.

The win pushed Loras' home unbeaten streak to 21 games.

They'll host Augustana in the Rock Bowl on Wednesday night beginning at 7:30.
