It was a high scoring weekend for the Duhawks in the Rock Bowl this weekend. Loras moved to 5-2 overall and outscored Nebraska Wesleyan and St. Norbert 14-1. They also raised money for a school in Haiti with which Loras College has a long-standing relationship.

Jayne Eslinger opened the high scoring weekend in just the fourth minute of Saturday's game with her shot from the top of the 18 yard box. Loras didn't look back, netting two more first half goals and putting in six in the second half.

Kate Young and Jessica Kern each put away breakaway chances in the first half to join Eslinger on the score sheet. Loras outshot the Prairie Wolves 14-3 in the opening 45 minutes.

The second half offered a half dozen more goals for the Duhawk offense.

Among the goal scorers in the final 45 minutes were Kate Young's second goal of the game and individual tallies by Brittan Rooney, Danielle Vujovic, Kristine Everding, Claire Murphy, and Frankie Mosca.

Loras controlled possession and had 11 more trips to the attacking third of the field halted by the offside flag.

Katie Chambers held down the fort in the opening 45 minutes and didn't need to make a save. Hannah Wilson entered in the second half and preserved the shutout with two saves.

Ali Schmitt netted her first goal of the year on a Jessica Kern assist in the fifth minute and the Duhawks were back to their goal-scoring ways quickly on Sunday in the Rock Bowl.

Danielle Vujovic and Kate Young added goals roughly 90 seconds apart in the 29thand 30thminutes to extend Loras' early lead. This time in the first half, Katie Chambers logged two saves before being lifted to begin the second half.

St. Norbert converted a free kick on the slick Rock Bowl surface on a sloppy defensive lapse just before the hour mark. Zoe Kurth was the Green Knight who converted the long distance effort.

Comfortably in control at 3-1, Lisa Waltz rounded out the scoring for Loras over the final 22 minutes. Both goals came from inside the visitors' six yard box. Brittan Rooney crossed the first one to Waltz on the back post. The second came from a Hillary Wilson pass and included a spin move by Waltz on her way to her second goal.

The Duhawks also spent Sunday raising money for Louverture Cleary School in Haiti. For the past decade, Loras College's Campus Ministry Office has offered both financial and human resources to the Haitian Project and the school. For the past two seasons, the Loras College soccer teams have joined in the effort by setting aside one home game to generated funds to put towards the relationship. The team wore jerseys that shared the colors of the flags of the two countries.

Additionally, members of the soccer teams have taken the college's service trip in January.

Loras' two wins pushed their Rock Bowl unbeaten streak to 20 games dating back to the end of the 2009 season.

Loras will host the University of Dubuque on Saturday in a Homecoming night game in the Rock Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM following Loras' football game at 1:00 PM.
