Loras 6, Nebraska Wesleyan 0

The Duhawks opened a 3-0 halftime lead after taking 14 first half shots on the Prairie Wolves' goal. The goal-scoring barrage started in the 34thminute with Brad Joiner. Erik Berkowitz switched the point of attack and sent Chris Comstock down the sideline and eventually the end line where Comstock picked out Joiner for an empty-net shot to open the scoring.

Tom Fluegel scored his first Loras College goal in the 42ndminute when Sean Lewis put Fluegel into a dangerous spot. Just before the halftime break Forrest Olson hustled to the back post to get on the end of a majestic Louis Oswald cross and head his first goal of the year home.

Loras continued to control the pace of the game with both their starters and reserves in the second half and then opened another goal-scoring spree in the 82ndminute. Kevin Cavers' corner kick was kept moving across the face of the Nebraska Wesleyan goal by Ryan Schneider. Alejandro Cosmopolis finished Schneider's redirection for his first goal of 2011.

Fluegel was back on the scoring sheet in the 85thminute when the Prairie Wolves' backup goalkeeper left the goal exposed upon leaving the penalty area. The freshman from Rockton, Illinois obliged with a 30-yard shot to make it 5-0.

The Duhawks closed the scoring in the 87thminute when Schneider made the most of the breakaway Forrest Olson and Mark Venisse provided.

Nate DuBois made five saves in goal for the Duhawks to earn the shutout.

Loras 7, St. Norbert 0

The Duhawks found the back of the net on 7 of their 25 shots in Sunday's convincing win over St. Norbert. Loras opened up and early lead and kept their foot on the gas pedal throughout the 90 minute effort.

Donald St. George netted two goals in the first 17 minutes on assists from Chris Comstock and Camilo Garces. The first came just three minutes and four seconds into the game. The second came at the 16:42 mark. Sandwiched between St. George's tallies was a Dan Figura header on another Kevin Cavers assist. Figura has now headed home four goals and is tied for the team lead.

Comstock then found the back of the net himself in the 22ndminute with assists going to Cavers and Brad Joiner. Joiner's assist made it four straight games with at least one point.

The first half scoring wrapped with Louie Oswald's effort in the 42ndminute.

Backup forwards Ryan Schneider and Dan Miller posted the second half goals, with Schneider assisting on Miller's goal. Schneider's goal came just five minutes into the second half Miller's was in the 70th.

Loras owned the possession and regularly stalled Green Knights attacks before they started. The Duhawks were +20 in the shots department.

Nate DuBois and Dylan Milkent each made one save in their 45 minutes of work in goal to preserve the shutout.

The Duhawks also spent Sunday raising money for Louverture Cleary School in Haiti. For the past decade, Loras College's Campus Ministry Office has offered both financial and human resources to the Haitian Project and the school. For the past two seasons, the Loras College soccer teams have joined in the effort by setting aside one home game to generated funds to put towards the relationship. The team wore jerseys that shared the colors of the flags of the two countries.

Additionally, members of the soccer teams have taken the college's service trip in January.

Loras' two wins pushed their Rock Bowl winning streak to 12 games dating back to the end of the 2010 season.

Loras will host the University of Dubuque on Saturday in a Homecoming night game in the Rock Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM following Loras' football game at 1:00 PM and the women's soccer game at 5:00 PM.
