The Loras College volleyball team went to Storm Lake, Iowa with one thing on their mind and that was to start their Iowa Conference schedule off with a convincing victory.

Each of the sets had battles throughout the respective game as Loras won 25-20, 25-14, and 27-25 over the Beavers.

The Duhawks 3-0 victory over Buena Vista University was sealed in the third set, which required the win-by-two-points format to finish out the sweep of the Beavers Wednesday night.

Juniors Regan Riley and Kenzie Goedken led the team with 14 kills each, while Julie Rogers continued her steady play at the setter position pitching in 34 assists, along with 3 aces. Riley also added eleven digs.

Coming off a 1-3 start to the season in Winona, Minnesota this was the first step on their way back to .500 as they competed in their first Iowa Conference game of the season.

The Beavers were held to .111 hitting percentage compared to Loras' .313. The Duhawks also blocked their opponent seven times and had more success on serves, scoring eight aces to the Beavers' three.

Loras next takes to the court this weekend at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville tournament hosted in Platteville, Wisconsin. Loras will play at 4:00 pm against UW-Platteville and 6:00 pm against Monmouth College on Friday. They will play at noon and 2:00 pm on Saturday against Edgewood and Millikin.
