IIAC Outdoor Championships RESULTS

The Loras College men's track and field team finished fourth at the 2011 Outdoor IIAC Championships over the weekend, thanks in large part to All-Conference finishes in five events.

That list includes three individuals and two relay teams.

Both the 4x100 Meter Relay and 4x800 Meter Relay teams each finished in third place. The 4x100 sprinters finished in 42.83 seconds and the 4x800 team came home in 7:58.57 for their bronze finishes.

Individually, Josh Goerdt and Steve Neukem each finished in second place. Goerdt did his damage in the 400 Meter race, finishing in 49.41 seconds. Neukum shined in the Javelin Throw.

Dan McDermott was also third in the 5000 Meter Run. McDermott needed 15:11.40 to complete the race.

Loras scored a total of 96 team points and finished fourth in the team standings - 10 points behind third and 12.5 ahead of fifth.

The Duhawks have two "Last Chance" meets to try and add qualifiers to the list for the 2011 NCAA Championships. They will send some athletes to the Central College meet on Wednesday and to Augustana on Friday. A full list will be available this weekend of the qualifiers - who would head to Ohio Wesleyan for nationals.
