Duhawks bring in multiple silver performances at Monmouth, finish 4th

Monmouth Invite RESULTS

The Loras College women's track and field team finished in fourth place at the Monmouth College Invitational at Monmouth College over the weekend. The Duhawks posted four second place finishes on their way to the fourth spot in the team standings.

Sophomore Caitlin Groeper was third in the High Jump, logging the second highest effort on the day at 5'-3.25" and splitting the second and third place team points with Michelle Strickland of Dubuque.

Junior Kathleen Loftus was second in the 200 Meter race in 26.47 seconds, just 0.25 seconds off the winning time. Another runner-up finish came in the 1500 where senior Tara Kilburg posted a 4:38.95.

The Duhawks saw more success in the throwing events on Saturday.

Danielle McNally was second in the Discus with her toss of 137'-10", and followed with a solid effort in the Hammer Throw as well. The Duhawks finished 2-3-4 in the Hammer Throw, led by senior Heidi Tobin. Tobin threw a runner-up 157'-8", while junior Meggen Elsen followed with a 145'-11", and McNally a fourth place 144'-1", scoring a total of 19 team points in the event.

The Duhawks now prepare for the Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships, May 13-14 at Cornell College.
