Rieger, McNally win twice at Loras Midweek

Loras Midweek RESULTS

The Loras College women's track and field teams hosted their annual Midweek meet on April 20 and hosted Clarke University and Luther College. The Duhawks won a total of nine events, including a pair of Duhawks that finished first in two separate events.

Tara Kilburg won the 5,000 Meter Run by nine seconds over second place when she crossed the finish line in 17:39.00. The time was the second best by a Duhawk in program history.

Heidi Tobin hit the national qualifying mark in the Hammer Throw, winning the event by over 16 feet. Tobin tossed the fourth best effort by a Duhawk in program history - 168'-2".

Kirsten Ferch out-leaped Clarke's Jessica Nessan by a half an inch to win the Long Jump. Ferch's winning jump was 16'-7.75".

Caitlin Groeper won the High Jump by clearing 5'-1" on her fourth attempt of the day.

Two schools, Loras and Luther, entered relay teams into the 4x100 Meter Relay. The Duhawks edged the Norse at the line by .22 seconds.

The multiple event winners for the Duhawks were Laura Rieger and Danielle McNally.

McNally won titles in the Discus Throw and the Shot Put. She was six feet better than second place in the Shot Put - 40'-9". She was five and a half feet better than second place in the Discus - 122'-8".

Rieger won the 800 Meter Run in 2:19.92 and the 1500 in 4:54.83.

The Duhawks will host their Open on Saturday, April 30 and also send Duhawks to the Drake Relays this weekend.
