The Loras College men's basketball team fell to 6-13 on Wednesday night with a one point loss in the AWC to Simpson, 67-66.

The Duhawks held an eight point halftime lead which moved to as high 16 in the second half, but the offense sputtered to the final buzzer and the Storm completed the comeback that started and ended with Barragan's shooting.

Tim Kelly led the Duhawks off the bench, scoring 21 points in 9-of-12 shooting in 19 minutes of action. Simpson's leading scorer came off the bench as well, in the form of big man Cornelius Mosby's 18 points. Loras won the overall bench battle 33-22.

Dan Pawelski scored 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Duhawks and Jordan Harrelson scored 10 on 5-of-8 shooting, adding five rebounds, two assists, and no turnovers to his line.

The Duhawks controlled the tempo for most of the game and led on the scoreboard for all but the final two seconds. Loras' lead was its largest at the halfway point of the second half, but Barragan started the comeback with a pair of three pointers (he scored 8 of his 10 points over the last 10 minutes). Barragan then completed the comeback with two seconds left when he made a contested 15 foot jump shot from the right baseline to give Simpson their first and only lead.

Loras went 6-of-12 from the free throw line to the Storms' 14-of-21.

The Duhawks return to the AWC to take on the league leading Luther Norse (12-6, 9-1) at 4:00 PM on Saturday. The final five games of the 2010-11 IIAC season after Luther include road games with Buena Vista, Dubuque, and Cornell, and home tilts against Coe and Wartburg.
