The Loras College women's basketball team traded jabs early with Coe College in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday night, but Kohawks small forward Sarah Anciaux threw seven haymakers to lead the home team to victory over Loras, 71-49.

Coe's lead was just two points, 21-19, when Loras went cold on the offensive end and Coe took control. When Anciaux made the final two three point attempts of the opening frame and the first half buzzer sounded, it put an end to a 16-0 run over the final six minutes of the first half and the Kohawks firmly in the driver's seat for the final 20 minutes.

Brittany Kent was 5-of-5 from the field to lead Loras with 10 points. Alex Hudson and Lindsey LaBadie chipped in with eight and seven respectively. LaBadie also pulled down a team high seven rebounds.

The Kohawks dominated on the glass, outrebounding Loras 59-25. Anciaux finished with 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from three point range (7-of-13 overall). Loras was just 2-of-13 from long distance, while Coe converted 11 of the 31 long distance efforts.

Loras moved to .500 in the IIAC at the halfway point, 4-4. Coe moved to 7-1. Loras remains on the road for Saturday's game with Central. Tipoff is 2:00 PM in Pella.
