Kent paces offense

The Loras College women's basketball team cruised to an 81-60 win over the Dubuque Spartans on Saturday afternoon in the AWC. Brittany Kent scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 18 minutes for team high honors.

Three players came off the bench for the Duhawks to reach double figures and help Loras to a 48-32 advantage in bench points. The Duhawks also held advantages in the paint (28-14), off turnovers (20-16), and on the offensive glass with second chance points (20-10).

Kelly Rogowski made multiple three-pointers for the third straight game and scored 13 points. Katie Langmeier had 12 and Lindsey LaBadie 11 off the bench as well. LaBadie pulled down eight rebounds and Langmeier and Melissa Herrmann each pulled down seven. Loras also shot 77% from the free throw line (20-of-26) while holding the Spartans to 34% shooting.

Loras upped their record to 8-8 overall and 4-3 in the Iowa Conference, good for fourth place in the standings. They will be on the road twice this week with games scheduled at Coe on Wednesday night and at Central on Saturday afternoon.
