The Loras College men's basketball team fell to 5-11 on Saturday with their home loss to the University of Dubuque, 82-74.

Connor Mooney scored a team high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Travis Guy was active with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding seven offensive rebounds and five assists. Mike Gleason scored 12 on 6-of-14 from the field.

Dubuque had four players in double figures, led by Taylor Blum's 28 points. Blum and Mitch Michaelis combined to go 9-of-14 from behind the three point arc and 11-of-12 from the free throw line.

The Duhawks made 34 baskets to the Spartans' 26. Loras only attempted eight free throws - while the visitors went 19-of-29 from the charity stripe. The game was a relatively clean one, with 11 turnovers apiece and the Duhawks were a +4 on the glass.

Loras tied the game with 12:28 to go in the second half after Connor Mooney, Taylor Baxter, and Dan Pawelski made consecutive baskets, but the home team never claimed the lead as the Spartans completed the road win. Loras had the lead down to five with a minute to go after a Baxter three pointer, but Dubuque made their final five free throws to ice the victory.

Loras fell to 2-5 in the Iowa Conference in the loss. They head on the road next week with games at Coe on Wednesday and Central on Saturday.
