The Loras College men's basketball team dropped their road contest with the Wartburg Knights 89-80 on Wednesday night.

Mike Gleason led the Duhawks with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting and 6-of-10 three pointers. Taylor Baxter scored 16 points off the bench and made 4-of-12 threes. Dan Pawelski added 11 points and eight rebounds for Loras, who shot 46% from the field and 38% from behind the arc, but just 44% (8-of-18) from the free throw line.

The Knights were 16-of-22 from the free throw line with their leading scorers - Cole Danielson and Jordan Sathoff - and 22-of-30 from the charity stripe overall. Danielson finished with 27 points and Sathoff 24. Three other Knights had nine points each.

The lead changed hands six times in the second half, with the Knights extending the lead down the stretch during the forced-to-foul final 60 seconds to nine points. Prior to that, Wartburg led by as many as 11 early in the final frame and the Duhawks led by as many as six points after Gleason made a three pointer with seven minutes to play. Gleason reclaimed the lead for Loras with another three at the three minute mark. Then Wartburg claimed the lead for good with a Jordan Sathoff jumper with 2:17 to go.

The teams combined to go 60-for-121 from the field on the night and 99 second half points.

The loss moved the Duhawks to 5-10 overall and 2-4 in the Iowa Conference heading into Saturday's home game against the Dubuque Spartans (9-5, 3-2). The game tips off at 4:00 PM in the Athletic and Wellness Center.
