The Loras College men's basketball team won their third game in their last five tries on Wednesday night in Clinton over NAIA Ashford University, 76-69.

Dan Pawelski scored 19 points on 7-of-19 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds to pace the Duhawks on the offensive end. Jordan Harrelson was one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, adding three blocks and three assists to one of his best all-around nights of the season.

Joining Pawelski and Harrelson in double figures were Mike Gleason (12 points on 5-of-11 shooting) and Tim Kelly (15 points on 4-of-6 shooting).

Loras led by two at the break but trailed by eight after seven minutes of play in the second half. Tim Kelly cut the lead to three points with back to back baskets, and then Ryan Coon and Jordan Harrelson gave the Duhawks the lead for good with nine minutes left. Ashford went 0-for-5 during that stretch, all from long distance, with an offensive foul/turnover mixed in.

Loras had their best free throw shooting night of the season, shooting 84% (16-of-19) and converting each of their last 11 over the final seven minutes.

The 4-8 Duhawks return to the AWC and Iowa Conference slate on Wednesday night when they host Buena Vista (5-7, 2-1) at 8:00 PM.
