Duhawks sink Lady Vikings

The Loras College women's basketball team moved to within one game of .500 with their 57-49 win over North Park University on Wednesday night.

The Duhawks are now 5-6 after Alex Hudson led the offense with 16 points in 24 minutes on 5-of-16 shooting and three made three pointers. A total of 37 of the 57 points came from Hudson, center Melissa Herrmann (11 points) and Lindsey LaBadie (10 points). LaBadie added 10 rebounds and Herrmann and Hudson each pulled down nine apiece.

Loras used 24 North Park turnovers to score 23 points, while the Lady Vikings scored just seven points on just 15 Loras turnovers.

In addition to the points off of turnovers, the Duhawks survived 25% field goal shooting by making 18-of-25 free throws and pulling down 24 offensive rebounds.

Herrmann added two blocks and point guard Brittney Cato added four assists - and didn't register a turnover. The Loras bench was also +7 on the night.
