The Loras College men's basketball team fell to 2-7 after their road loss to Elmhurst on a nasty December Saturday in suburban Chicago, 76-68.

Mike Gleason scored a team high (and personal season best) 16 points as the Duhawks nipped at the Blue Jays heels throughout the contest. Connor Mooney added 11 points and seven assists and Tim Kelly and Dan Pawelski each dropped in 14 for Loras. Kelly was 5-of-6 from the field off the bench and Jordan Harrelson was 2-for-3 from the field with a team high nine rebounds.

Elmhurst protected the basketball over the 40 minutes, turning it over just seven times. They also went 26-of-35 from the free throw line (including 18-of-24 in the second half) to keep the Duhawks from claiming a second half lead.

After tying the game at 44-44 on a Tim Kelly three-pointer, Nick Sanford made a layup to give Elmhurst the lead for good with 14 minutes to play.

The Duhawks will host two more Chicago area teams in the next week when they open the AWC doors for the University of Chicago and North Park University on December 19 and 20. Sunday's game with Chicago will tip at 3:00 PM and the Monday night game against the Vikings will begin at 7:00 PM.
