#6 Bears hold court

The Loras College Duhawks made the wintry trek to St. Louis and back on Saturday, but returned with a loss after the sixth ranked Washington University-St. Louis Bears took care of business to the tune of a 69-49 win.

Alex Hudson went 5-for-10 from the field and scored a team high 11 points in the loss, adding six rebounds to her line. Center Melissa Herrmann blocked four shots and had three assists, but was held to a season low one point, taking just two shots. Brittany Kent and Lindsey LaBadie each scored nine points.The Duhawks also struggled from the free throw line, going 3-for-11.

A high scoring first half - 42-34 in favor of the hosts - slowed to a combined 26% shooting as the Duhawks struggled to cut into the halftime deficit and out-rebound a Bears team that pulled down 51 rebounds on the combined 81 missed field goals.

The Duhawks will travel to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday to take on the #18 Titans at 2:00 PM in Bloomington, Illinois.
