Storm take Indianola matchup over Duhawks

The Loras College Duhawks fell for the first time in IIAC play on Wednesday, 88-64 in Indianola to Simpson College.

The Duhawks struggled through 32 turnovers and 35% shooting to move their way to 64 points. On the home side, the Storm put three players in double figures and shot 52% from the field on their way to their third IIAC win.

Guard Niki Rivera headlined the Loras lineup, setting a Loras College record with her 6-of-6 shooting from long distance. Lindsey LaBadie scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds off the bench. Stacey Schutjer scored a game high 19 points for Simpson and blocked five shots for the Storm.

Loras moved to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the IIAC with the loss. The Duhawks will take on their next IIAC opponent on January 5 when Buena Vista comes to town. In the meantime, the Duhawks will play four non-conference games - on the road December 11 and 18, and at home the 29th and 31st.
