Edgewood takes game one of 2010

The Loras College men's basketball team opened their 2010-11 season with a 74-55 road loss to Edgewood College on Monday night.

Dan Pawelski scored a team high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting and was one rebound shy of a double-double effort. Freshman Alex Cline scored 11 points in 24 minutes off the bench in his first game in a Duhawk uniform.

Edgewood shot 54% on the night and had four starters in double figures to help them into the win column. They protected the ball to the tune of just six turnovers.

Loras crashed the offensive glass with 12 rebounds and were also effective from long distance, converting 8-of-24 attempts, five from Pawelski and Coon.

Loras will return to the floor in the pacific time zone this Saturday when they head to Whitworth University. The game will tip off at 8:00 PM in Spokane, Washington, 10:00 PM central time.
