Osterberger resigns from head football post

Steve Osterberger has stepped down as the head football coach at Loras College, effective immediately.

The move comes at the request of the Department of Athletics and Athletic Director Bob Quinn.

"I've been asked step down as the head football coach at Loras and agreed to do so," Osterberger said late Monday.

 

"The players I've coached over the past five seasons have worked hard, and I want to thank them for everything they've given me and this program," Osterberger added.

"I also want to extend my thanks to the members of the coaching staff who have put in countless hours of their time, and, to the people who have supported Loras College football during my time," Osterberger added.

Director of Athletics Bob Quinn expressed his gratitude to Osterberger for his time as the head football coach.

"I would like to thank Steve Osterberger for his five seasons of service as our head football coach," Quinn said. "We wish him the best going forward and appreciate the hard work he has put in to the program."

"We'll begin our search for the next head football coach at Loras College immediately," Quinn added. 

The next head coach will be the 25th in the program's history.
