The Loras College women's soccer team remained unbeaten in Iowa Conference play and upped their overall record to 15-1 with their 3-1 road win over the Dubuque Spartans.

Jackie Tumberger opened the scoring for the Duhawks in the 15th minute when she took a pass from Kate Young and hit a solid one-time shot past Natalie Baker in the Dubuque goal. Young added a goal of her own when she gained the penalty box on a solo run to a dangerous spot and extended the lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute. Young added her fourth point of the night and second assist early in the second half when she found Tonya Lohmeyer in the middle of the penalty box. Lohmeyer converted the insurance goal to close the Duhawks' scoring.

Dubuque mounted a handful of attacks in front of Katie Chambers in the Loras goal, and found the back of the net once in the 58th minute to break up Chambers' and the Loras defense's shutout. Chambers finished with two saves.

Loras outshot the Spartans 19-9 on the night. Young's goal was her team-high ninth of the season. Seven of her goals have been game-winners.

The Duhawks will host Simpson College (7-8-1, 3-3) in the Rock Bowl on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM.
