Duhawks sweep Dutch in Pella

The Loras College volleyball team remained atop the Iowa Conference standings with their three-set win over the Central College Dutch on Wednesday night.

Loras swept the Dutch 25-22, 25-20, 35-23 in Pella to move to 6-0 in the IIAC.

Senior outside hitter Kate Russell put down a team high 13 kills, hitting .379 for the night. Regan Riley added nine kills and Kenzie Goedken added eight. Russell also had two solo blocks and two block assists.

Julie Rogers was effective in three different phases of the game. The junior setter from Homer Glen, Illinois sent up 34 assists, had a team high 15 digs, and also contributed five aces. Loras committed just one service error to Central's six.

The win keeps Loras unbeaten in Iowa Conference play with two contests remaining. The Duhawks will host William Penn in a non-conference game on Friday night in the Athletic and Wellness Center before closing the regular season at Coe on October 26 and then back home for the Cornell Rams on November 2.
