Duhawks once again "Thinking Pink" this October
Tue, Oct. 5, 2010 - [Women's Volleyball]

The Loras College volleyball team will host their third annual "PINK" game on Wednesday night when they host the University of Dubuque in the Athletic and Wellness Center in an Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.

Once again this year, the Duhawks have organized a well-rounded night that includes over 15 health care exhibits, a 50/50 raffle, t-shirt sales, prizes and giveaways, and even the opportunity to honor those who have fought against breast cancer. The team is also selling pink ribbons in the Alumni Campus Center this week leading up to the game.

Proceeds generated at the gate and through the 50/50 raffle will once again be given to the Breast of Friends program and the Maria House here and Dubuque.

"This has been a great night the past couple of years, and this year's match will be very similar," head volleyball coach Teresa Kehe said earlier this week. "Every dollar raised for these types of causes is an important dollar and we hope everyone can join us for our intracity match on Wednesday night."

The junior varsity match will begin at 6:00 PM and the varsity will follow at 7:30 in the AWC. The Duhawks are currently 15-5, 4-0 in the IIAC and the Spartans are 7-14, 0-4 in the IIAC.
