The Loras College football team fell to 1-3 on Saturday with their road loss to the 4-0 Wartburg College Knights in Waverly, Iowa.

The Duhawks were within striking distance at halftime trailing by 13 points, but failed to reach the end zone in their 29-plus minutes of possession.

Johnny Jackson led the three-pronged rushing attack with 49 yards on the ground. Five different receivers caught passes for a total of 48 yards. Zach Myers put his stamp on the game with five tackles (two for losses), a fumble recovery, and an interception.

The Knights' first half scoring drives included 16- and 11-play drives that were ended with short runs by Reese Thompson. The second half scoring included two Wartburg scores from over 30 yards and an interception return.

Loras was limited to 130 yards of total offense and were forced to punt nine times against the league's top ranked defense.

Loras falls to 1-3 with their second straight road loss.

The Duhawks return to the Rock Bowl for Homecoming this Saturday. Kickoff against Buena Vista University is 1:00 PM. The game is available locally on Newstalk AM-1490 WDBQ beginning at 12:30 and online via GameCentral on duhawks.com just before kickoff.
