Head Coach Steve Osterberger and the rest of the Loras College football coaching staff will joing hundreds of other programs and thousands of coaches this Saturday in Waverly, Iowa when they wear their "Coach to Cure MD" patch.

Now in its third season - the American Football Coaches Association's "Coach to Cure MD" program is working to raise money to battle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood and primarily affects boys across all races and cultures.

"This is a great cause that the (AFCA) has gotten behind and we're happy to join them in their efforts to fight M.D.," head coach Steve Osterberger said this week.

"We've got to do our part, and I think we can do well as a team on Saturday with the text messaging option they've given coaches, players, and fans," Osterberger added.

You can make a $5 donation by texting CURE to 90999 on Saturday. You'll receive a confirmation text which will apply a $5 donation to your next cell phone bill.
