The Loras College women's soccer team is up to 5-0 in 2010 after a pair of home wins over St. Norbert College and Carthage College over the weekend.

Loras 1

St. Norbert 0

The Duhawks used Jaclyn Tumberger's first goal in a Loras uniform in the 23rd minute to defeat St. Norbert on Saturday. Tumberger's hard-hit shot from the near the top of the box on a loose ball was the difference in a match the Duhawks from beginning to end.

Loras outshot the visitors 21-3 in earning their third shutout of 2010. Katie Chambers needed to make two saves. Kate Young, Jayne Eslinger, and Lynn Devriese each recorded at least three shots.

Loras 3

Carthage 0

Tonya Lohmeyer headed home the game's opening goal in the ninth minute after Jayne Eslinger led Jessica Kern to the corner to setup what held as the game-winning goal. Kern added her third goal of the season just over one minute into the second half to extend the Loras lead to 2-0 over the Lady Reds. Natalie Schlader closed the scoring in the 67th minute after Kern hit the crossbar - leaving Schlader an open look that she convincingly buried.

Katie Chambers made three saves in 76 minutes of work before Rachael Stieber finished the final 14 minutes on Sunday.

Loras returns to action on Tuesday night when they host the #25 Wheaton College Thunder in the Rock Bowl. The game can be viewed live on the Duhawk Broadcast Network at THIS LINK.
