Three members of the 2010 Loras College baseball team were named to the All-Iowa Conference team earlier this week.

On Tuesday, senior catcher John Schroeder and junior outfielders Calvin Rea and Kyle Soeder learned they had each been selected to the second team for their efforts during Iowa Conference play this year.
    

Schroeder, who appeared on the Honorable Mention list a year ago, climbed to the second team after hitting .319 in his senior season - a year in which he played in all 39 games. The Lena, Illinois native threw out a league high eight attempted base-stealers during IIAC games and tied for the team high with 40 runs scored.

Soeder hit .364 this season, including .392 in IIAC games. Twenty-two of his 27 RBI came during IIAC games and he slugged .579 for the year. The Dubuque Senior High School graduate played all 24 league games in right field for the Duhawks.

Rea, a junior transfer, made an immediate impact on the Loras offense. The leftfielder from Cascade, Iowa led Loras in hits (51), RBI (43), batting average (.398), slugging percentage (.719), doubles (17), homeruns (8), and tied Schroeder for the team lead with 40 runs scored.

Loras finished the season 9-15 in Iowa Conference play and three games out of the final spot in the 2010 Iowa Conference Tournament. They were 15-24 overall.
