A total of four Duhawks were named to the All Iowa Conference softball team last week, and one of those four, senior second baseman Michelle Bahl ,also appeared on the 2010 All-Region team.

In 2008, Bahl was among the league leaders in a number of categories and earned third team honors on the All-Region squad. This season, after breaking the program's career RBI and homerun records, Bahl returned to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region third team. Bahl hit .308 with 30 runs scored and 28 RBI this season. She also added nine homeruns - enough to move her into first place on Loras' all time and single season homerun lists. She was among the league leaders in slugging percentage, homeruns, and walks all season.

For her efforts in 2010, Bahl was also named to the All-Iowa Conference second team. It was her second appearance on the All IIAC list after also being named to the second team in 2008.

Joining Bahl on the list were three other infielders.

Tracy Sullivan, a junior catcher from Edgewood, Iowa hit .252 and threw out 25% of base stealers. She was third on the team in RBI in 2010 and slugged .402.

Two first year players, Niki Rivera and Kellie Klein, were also recognized for their standout opening seasons. Each played a key role in the Duhawks returning to the Iowa Conference tournament for the first time since 2007. Rivera played nearly every game at shortstop this season and had clutch hits and homeruns in the process. Nine of her eighteen hits were for extra bases. Klein pulled double duty in 2010, earning a team high 12 wins on the mound (including five in IIAC games) and was second on the team in hitting behind Bahl when she stepped out and played first base or hit as the designated player. She added five homeruns of her own and posted an ERA under 2 (1.90).

Loras finished 2010 16-21 overall and 5-11 in IIAC in their first season under head coach Ashley Rogers.
