The Loras College softball team stayed above .500 but fell to 0-2 in Iowa Conference play on Thursday with 10-0 and 1-0 losses to #6 Central College in Pella, Iowa. The Duhawks had four hits in 13 innings of play and the Dutch scored 11 runs on 14 hits to sweep the doubleheader.

Game 1

Michelle Bahl and Beth Miller managed the hits against Central starter Kiley Lythberg and reliever Rhianna Fleetwood. Central's offense was a bit slow out of the gates but combined to score nine runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to cruise to the win. Loras starter Michelle Sabatini walked nine Dutch hitters to which helped the Dutch to the ten earned runs.

Game 2

Kellie Klein gave up one run in the bottom of the first inning to Central and that was enough for the home team to get past the Duhawks in Game 2. Klein struck out two and scattered six hits. Loras' hits came early against Lythberg- one apiece in the first and second innings by Kelsey Techlin and Beth Miller. The Duhawks struck out seven times at the plate.
