Duhawks take 5th at Liberal Arts Championships

LIBERAL ARTS RESULTS

The Loras College women's swimming and diving team took home a fifth place finish out of ten teams at the 2010 Liberal Arts Championships. Sophomore Alex Proctor grabbed the attention of the Loras fans by setting Loras records in the 50 free (24.46), 100 free (53.41) and 100 fly (59.64). Proctor's 100 fly time also broke the IIAC record.

The team finished with a total of 299 points, just behind McMurray University with 329. Other notable performances included junior Kenzie Murray finishing runner-up in the 100 breast (1:10.70) and third in the 200 yard breast (2:31.31), and the 800 yard freestyle relay team of Proctor, Murray, freshmen Stephanie Czarobski, and Gabrielle Gaulke (8:17.17).

The Liberal Arts Championships meet wrapped up the season for the Duhawks. The team ended the 2009-10 season in second place in the Iowa Conference with a 2-1 record and were 6-6 overall.
