Loras College was recently added to a list of Colleges and Universities that are deemed to be sports safety leaders by the National Sports Safety Organization (NSSO).  This list highlights institutions which possess the proper equipment and training to deal with emergencies that can occur during both practices and games.  In Loras' case, this responsibility is overseen by the staff and students of the Loras College Athletic Training staff.

The NSSO used recommendations from the American Lung Association, American Medical Association, and the American Heart Association - among others - when developing the criteria to be met when seeking the designation "sports safety leader".  The Loras College Athletic Training staff currently possesses all of the proper equipment and training to help treat and refer Duhawk student-athletes in an emergency situation according to the NSSO.  For more information about the list or the NSSO you can visit their website at:  http://www.nssousa.org/index.php
