The Loras College women's track and field team drove back down Loras Blvd. on Saturday after a first place overall finish among ten teams at the University of Dubuque Spartan Open. The winning team score marks the team's first title of the 2009-10 indoor season.

The Duhawks had four individual and two teams first place finishers including junior Laura Rieger in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:00.08; senior Mary Bridget Corken in the 800 meter run posted a time of 2:18.57; senior Barb Kremer in the 55 meter hurdles recorded a 8.45 time, the 4x200 meter relay team in 1:52.56, the 4x400 meter relay in 4:09.85, and Danielle McNally threw the weight 16.07 meters. McNally and Kremer each improved their national qualifying marks. Kremer's personal best of 5.18 meters in the long-jump moves her up to fourth place in longest jumps in Loras College history.

The total team score was 161.50 points, ahead of Luther College's 119.50. The Iowa Conference Championships are this weekend in Storm Lake, Iowa, hosted by the Buena Vista Beavers.
