In the rematch of the hawks, the Loras College Duhawks fell to the Coe College Kohawks, 60-48, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday. The loss comes just three days after Loras cut down the net on their home floor, clinching the conference title. 

With the top seed in the conference tournament tied up, the Duhawks headed into the regular season finale looking to build momentum for the postseason.


Three minutes into the game Kaitlin Phillips hit a three-pointer to give Loras a 5-4 advantage. From that point on the Duhawks struggled from the field, shooting just 28.3%. Coe closed the half on a 21-12 run holding a 25-17 edge at the half.


In the second half, the Kohawks led by as many as 20 points. The Duhawks fought back to cut the deficit to nine twice but failed to get any closer, eventually falling 60-48.


Kaitlin Phillips led the Duhawks with 8 points. Victoria May and Kathleen Cabrera added 7 each.


With the loss, the Duhawks allowed Coe to clinch the 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.


The Duhawks finish the regular season 17-8 (9-2). Iowa Conference tournament play begins on Tuesday.


After a first round bye, Loras faces the winner of the Wartburg/Simpson matchup at home on Thursday.
