It was raining 3-point baskets in the Athletic and Wellness Center Wednesday night for the Duhawks. The team connected on 16 shots from beyond the arc, only 2 makes shy of tying the school record set last season. This marks the 2nd game in a row where Loras has eclipsed the 100 point mark and won. Saturday the Duhawks won 100-70 over the Simpson College Storm.

Simpson was first on the scoreboard with a pair of free throws but would not hold the lead for long. The Duhawks jumped ahead quickly and never looked back, leading 25-9 ten minutes into the game. At half, they increased the lead to 20 at 56-36. Loras was 9-10 from 3-point range at halftime.

The Duhawks controlled the entire second half with their lead never being less than 17 points. They reached their largest lead in the second half at 36 points. Loras reached the century mark with 2:00 left in the game on a layup by Jake May.

Loras shot 36-65 (55%) from the field, 16-27 (59%) from beyond the arc, as well as 12-17 (70%) form the free throw line. Leading contributors for the Duhawks were: Alex Cline (17pts, 5rebs, 2asts), Aaron Schueller (17pts, 3asts), Bobby Harmening (15pts, 5reb, 2asts), and Nathaniel Smith (15pts, 3rebs, 3blks).

Other notable marks for the game were that Nathaniel Smith's consecutive made free throw streak ended at 40, and Loras was able to clear the bench with every Duhawk receiving playing time.

The Duhawks (14-10, 7-6) hits the road on Saturday for the final regular season game. They will put their 3 game win streak on the line against Coe (11-13, 3-10).
