The Loras men's basketball team was on the road for its final game of seven straight road trips. Loras visited Buena Vista and was unable to continue their hot streak suffering a 77-64 loss, moving the Duhawks record to 8-5 (1-1). 


The game featured nine lead changes and was tied nine times. Much of the first half was a back and forth battle with no team gaining a real advantage. Loras was able to take a four point lead into the break.


Buena Vista made a 16-0 run in the second half to help propel themselves to victory.


The Duhawks only managed to shoot 38.9% from the field while the Beavers connected on 51.8% of their shots. Loras was also outrebounded in the contest 44-28. Ryan Coon for Loras grabbed 11 boards leading all players.


Loras again was able to have a balanced scoring attack with five different players contributing eight or more points. Junior Bobby Harmening led the Duhawks with 12 points while hitting 9-of-10 from the charity stripe. Aaron Schueller was effective finishing with 11 points on 5-of-8 shots. Captain, Nathanial Smith was able to contribute 10 points. Loras got an additional eight points each from Luke Barry and Mirko Grcic.


Cole Darrow and Nick Clark led Buena Vista with 18 points and 14 points respectively.


Loras returns home Wednesday, January 15th to take on Coe College in the Athletic and Wellness Center, tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
