The Loras Men's Basketball team was right back on the road after their trip to San Antonio this weekend. This time they went to the St. Louis area to visit SLIAC members Greenville College and Principia College.

The Duhawks were able to pick up a win against Greenville College in the first meeting, 73-64. Much of the first half was a back and forth game with the Panthers building their lead to as many as seven points.  Loras was able to cut the deficit to just one at the break and open the second half with a 10-2 run courtesy of a couple three-pointers from Alex Cline and Aaron Schueller.  In the second half, Loras was able to build their lead up to as much as 12 points and they controlled much of the half to give themselves the victory over the Panthers.

Loras was led by Nathanial Smith with 14 points and six rebounds. Aaron Schueller was able to put up 13 points while converting on two three-pointers and converting 3-of-4 free throws. The Duhawks also had nine points each from Bobby Harmening and Mirko Grcic. Loras was able to shoot 46% from the field and hit six three-pointers against the Panthers.

The second game of the trip fared even better for the Duhawks, this time winning 87-53 over Principia College. Loras was able to shoot 52.5% and defensively held Principia to just 28.8% from the field. Another strong point for Loras was their bench who contributed 40 points while the Panthers bench was only able to contribute only 15.

Alex Cline led the Duhawks with 16 points and 9 rebounds while converting on 5-of-7 shooting and a 3-of-5 effort from the three-point line. Senior Ryan Coon also played well chipping in 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting. The bench players were led by Josh Bruns who added nine points. Freshman Danny Quinn and sophomore Jake May contributed 7 points each for the Duhawks.

The wins move the Duhawks record to 7-4 in non-conference play. Loras will continue its road warrior attitude as they open up their first conference game at Simpson College on January 8th and a trip to Buena Vista University on January 11th before coming back home.
