The Loras College men's basketball team was in Eureka, Illinois on Thursday night for a holiday break matchup with the Red Devils. Loras started the game on a 16-0 run over the first seven minutes and never looked back.

Those first seven minutes were a snapshot of the night, with Loras' defense limiting chances left and right and the offense spreading the wealth – with every starter logging at least two made field goals. Four more Duhawks scored multiple field goals off the bench.

Aaron Schueller and Alex Cline led the way on Thursday night. Schueller made a team high six shots, including two from long distance. He added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Cline was 3-of-7 from the field and scored ten points, adding a team high ten rebounds for his double-double. Mirko Grcic came off the bench to score 11 points. Nathaniel Smith also reached double figures with his 10 points and team high five assists.

The Duhawks won the rebounding battle 45-29 and turned the ball over just eight times over the 40 minutes. They dominated in the paint, outscoring Eureka 46-8 from close range. Loras improved to 4-3 with the win, while the Red Devils fell to 2-8.

Next up for the Duhawks is their late-December trip south to Trinity University's Trinity Classic. Tipoff times have changed since the first release of the schedule. Loras will play the host Tigers at 6:00 PM on December 29 and tip off at 4:00 PM on December 30 against Southwestern.
