On Thursday, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released their first 2013-14 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. Loras College is the top Iowa Conference school and in the top 15 at the #14 spot.

Loras earned points based on the soccer teams and men's cross country team qualifying and succeeding at the NCAA Championships level. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports -- nine women's and nine men's.

The #14 spot is the highest among Iowa Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference, and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconin members as of December 12, 2013.

"I'm obviously very proud of our fall teams for their hard work and success on the field. Rankings like these and our 29 Iowa Conference All-Academic team members are rewarding for our whole department," Director of Athletics Bob Quinn said on Thursday. "I'm looking forward to more strong seasons this winter and fall."
