Loras 81

Beloit 63

The Loras College women's basketball team moved to 4-2 on the season with an 81-63 win over Beloit College on Wednesday night.

The Duhawks took control from the start but the Bucs continued to fight their way back. After a Loras run, the Duhawks closed out the half with a 38-22 lead. Loras' strong defensive effort held Beloit to just seven first half field goals, and 39.2% shooting from the field for the game.

The Bucs came out much more aggressive in the second half but found the duo of Katie Langmeier and Victoria May to be too much to handle.

Senior forward Katie Langmeier posted her fourth double-double of the season with 39 points and 13 rebounds. Her 39 points are a new career-high and fell just two points shy of the school record.

Victoria May was the only other Duhawk to score in double figures turning in a double-double of her own with 15 points and 10 rebounds. May also added three assists and two steals.

Beloit was led by Lauren McNanna with 20 points and six assists. Teammates Lana Wieseman and Megan McCabe each added 15 points.

The Duhawks kickoff a three game road trip as they travel to Kenosha, WI this weekend to take on #16 Carthage College. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 pm on Saturday.

The team returns to the Athletic & Wellness Center on December 31st when they will host the Thunder of Wheaton College at 2:00 p.m.
