Duhawks finish 8th out of 27 at NCAA DIII Regionals

After finishing in second place in Pella, Iowa on November 2nd at the IIAC Championship, the Duhawks place 8th in Northfield, Minnesota in the NCAA Division III Central Region Championship on Saturday.  The Duhawks finished with a score of 228 points.  


Mary Rector, Loras' top finisher, crossed the finish line in tenth place in the 186-runner field with a time of 22:32 while Maggie Saenz Ruiz followed in 17th with a time of 22:50. Rector and Saenz-Ruiz have been strong leaders for the Duhawks this season.


The Loras lineup was rounded out by Brianna Cook, who finished 44th with a time of 23:44, Kellie Wagner, 70th, with a time of 24:01, and Becky Hilby, 87th, with a time of 24:19.  Bridget Hall and Hallie Martin placed 89th and 136th with times of 24:21 and 25:19.


The 8th place finish was an improvement from 2012's 17th place spot for the Duhawks, who were hoping to push for an at-large spot at the national championship
