Duhawks drop first dual of 2013-14

Loras Men's Swimming and Diving hosted Augustana College at San Jose Pool this past Friday, falling 152-79

 

John Maevski led the Duhawks with two first place finishes scoring 285.45 and 178.80 in the 1 meter diving events. Maevski set school records with his dives, 285.45 for the 6-dive mark and 464.25 for the 11-dive mark. Last year, Maevski broke the 28-year-old 6-dive record and reset it with his effort on Friday night. His 11-dive total puts him alone on the 1-Meter list. 

 

Ike Casey gave the Duhawks their third first place finish for the event in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 49.61.

 

Junior Matt Bogen took second place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle finishing in 10:39. Lance Scallon earned second place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a finish time of 23.44, tenths of a second behind the top finisher Daniel Hinck (23.23). Zach Benson gave the Duhawks another second place finish in the 200 Yard IM. Benson finished in 2:05.77 on the heels of Aaron Holt (2:05.10).

 

Loras looks to bounce back in their next meet, on November 22nd, 2013 at 6 p.m. when they travel to Simpson to take on the Storm.
