The University of Dubuque Spartans retained the "Key to the City" on Saturday with a convincing win over the Duhawks, who slipped to 1-8 with the loss. The hosts won 56-0 on their Senior Day.

 

Bright spots for the Duhawks included Danny Willis' 160 all-purpose yards and the 1.5 sacks posted Will Tumberger and Chris Sullivan. Willis had 112 yards in kickoff returns and another 34 in punt returns. He added two catches for 14 yards. Tumberger and Sullivan each had three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Sullivan had eight tackles on the day and Tumberger had six. 

  

The Spartans won battles in time of possession, total offense, first downs, and the turnover battle. They scored at least one touchdown in every quarter.

 

Dylan Jones was 11-for-26 for 114 yards and one interception – he was sacked four times. Zayne Moore led the team in rushing with his four late carries for 24 yards. Nate Carrier was held to 17 yards. Brendan Oates caught a team high five passes for 53 yards.

 

Senior Day is set for this Saturday at 1:00 PM when the IIAC leading Wartburg Knights (7-2, 5-1) come to town.
