The Loras College football team fell to 1-6 on Saturday with a road Iowa Conference loss to Buena Vista. The Duhawks were kept off the scoreboard and allowed 20 first half points and 14 second half points to the hosts.

The Beavers used two field goals from Tyler Stolen, two long touchdown catches from Jalen Henningsen, and two fourth quarter runs from Cody Cole to beat the Duhawks. On a day the offense never got into a rhythm, the Duhawks were forced to punt on four of their six first half possessions and five more times in the second half.

Loras' defense held the Beavers to four three-and-outs of their own. Buena Vista had a slight edge in time of possession and outgained the Duhawks in total yards 389-139.

Individually, Nate Carrier ran for 40 yards on 14 carries. Thomas Rose was the quarterback for all four quarters and went 10-for-25 through the air and was sacked four times. He completed two passes apiece to Carrier, Brendan Oates, Jon Powers, and Tom Zoeckler. Defensively, Logan Kuehl and Calvin Harridge led the way with nine tackles apiece and they each logged one tackle for loss. Harridge also forced a Buena Vista fumble. Rob Anderson added a sack and Mark Tilkes fell on the Harridge forced fumble.

Next up for the Duhawks is the Central College Dutch in the Rock Bowl on November 2. Kickoff is 1:00 PM and will be broadcast live on KCRG 9.2.
