The Loras College men's soccer team retained the Hawk Cup on Wednesday night with a road win over UW-Whitewater. Richard Lenke's first taste of the annual matchup included the game-winner in the second half.

The first 45 minutes included 16 shots, 10 for Loras and six for Whitewater. Among the 10 taken by the Duhawks was a Johnny Rummelhart attempt that caught the post and three more saves by the Warhawks goalkeeper. Dylan Milkent made one save in the first half for Loras.

The second half brought the game's only goal – the result of a Milkent punt and Alex Bradley flick. Lenke was on the end of the connections and slotted the ball home in the 67th minute to set off a sliding celebration for the Duhawks.

The Warhawks took three shots over the final 20 minutes, requiring one save from Milkent to preserve the victory. Kevin Cavers and Dillon Olson each offered shots on goal in the closing moments to extend the lead, but were turned away, keeping the final score line at 1-0.

Loras improved to 12-1-2 with the victory and are now set for a return to the Rock Bowl on Saturday night against Luther College (10-4, 4-0 in IIAC) at 7:30 PM.
