The Loras College men's soccer team arrived in Wheaton, Illinois Tuesday unbeaten through eight games in 2013 and returned to Dubuque in the early hours of Wednesday unbeaten through nine games. The Duhawks scored twice on their way to their seventh win of the year.

Senior Erik Berkowitz opened the scoring four minutes before halftime when he headed home a Chris Paulino pass in traffic. Loras had previously been credited with seven shots and the Wheaton Thunder five before Berkowitz finally broke through.

Loras' second tally also came late in the next half. This time Richard Lenke sprung Tom Fluegel toward the Wheaton goal for a breakaway. Fluegel did the rest, scoring his team-high fifth goal of the season and ensuring the winning result for the visitors.

Along the way to the win column, each team was credited with 14 total shots and seven shots on goal. Dylan Milkent made seven saves with varying degrees of difficulty to preserve the shutout – marking the second time this season the Duhawks have posted back-to-back clean sheets in 2013. The team has allowed just one goal in their last five contests.

Next up for the Duhawks is the start of Iowa Conference action. The Duhawks are down the street at 3:30 PM on Saturday to take on the University of Dubuque. They'll return to the Rock Bowl next Tuesday night against Simpson College.
