Wartburg, 3

Loras, 0

(26-24, 26-16, 25-21)

Loras' first Iowa Conference contest was a road sweep over the Dubuque Spartans a week ago. This week, the Wartburg Knights (who the Duhawks played in last year's IIAC Tournament Championship game) came to the AWC and took three straight sets from the Duhawks.

The Duhawks were unable to gain control of the match over the Wartburg Knights after the visitors rallied late in the first set. Loras led 24-22 in the first set before four straight points by Wartburg earned them a 26-24 win. The Knights came out quickly in the second set and held control of the match at 2-0 with that win. The third set saw the Duhawks inch closer as the final set progressed, but were unable to catch up before the Knights took the win, 25-21.

Tara Blake led the Duhawks with 13 kills on the night with Megan Beauchamp adding eight.  Shawn Rielly offered up 28 assists overall and defensively dug up 14 of Wartburg's hits.  Blake and Christa Winders were also big defensive players with 14 digs for Blake and 15 for Winders.  Loras moved to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in Iowa Conference play.

They are at the Wisconsin Dells for the first NACC-IIAC event of its kind. The team will play Dominican and Lakeland on Friday ahead of Saturday matches against Edgewood and Benedictine.
