Last night, the Lady Duhawks continued their early season success with a healthy 4-0 win over the UW-Platteville Pioneers on the road. The win was the Duhawks' third of the season as well as their third shutout. Loras outshot UW-Platteville 17-5 and goals were netted by four different scorers.

Both teams got off to a slow start on Wednesday night with no scoring until the 22nd minute when Loras Sophomore Katie Truesdale drove home a shot into the left corner after the Duhawks were able to connect a series of passes. The Duhawk goal picked up the momentum of the game a bit allowing them to dominate for the remainder of the first half.

The Duhawks came out in the second half with a new-found desire to show the Pioneers what they were made of. Senior Madeline Tennant was next to score for the Duhawks after a pass from Danielle Vujovic in the 50th minute. Junior Shelby Perkins scored on a free kick from 30 yards out by placing the ball just over the keeper's hands.  Junior Jill Leibforth finished off the scoring for the Duhawks in the 71st minute when the ball deflected off a Pioneer defender giving her the opportunity to bury a shot from the right hash mark. Hannah Wilson played well off her line stopping some through balls from the Pioneers and making an impressive breakaway save late in the second half to secure her third shutout of the season.

Next up for the Duhawks is the Raider Invitational at the Milwaukee School of Engineering this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday.
